Hello, everyone. How are you enjoying your Saturday afternoon? It was suppose to rain today here in Tokyo, but it turned out to be quite hot!! I was walking along Shimokitazawa today and saw a line of people trying to get kakigori, as shown on the picture! Do you know Kakigori? Sakura House residents are invited to the “AWAODORI” festival 2011 in Nakameguro. Awaodori is a group of dancers parade while dancing and singing through the streets following original music of instruments such as shamisen, drum, brass, and flute. All dancers wear traditional costumes and show the spirits of this 400 year-old tradition! Awaodori is originally from Tokushima prefecture in Shikoku-island and this exciting dance festival has been spreded to everywhere.
