As you may know, for those of us who live in the modern and busy world, getting some exercise done seems to be a really huge task. This could be because we don`t have time and some of us just get back home so late and all we wanna do is eat and sleep.
But, I came across a unique idea that the Russians in Moscow adopted to encourage people to exercise. During the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, subways had a special squat sensor that passengers could use to pay for their subway fare !!
In order to have a free ticket, a passenger was required to complete at least 30 squats within two minutes! Easy you may say but it was quite challenging! In order to motivate the passengers, the people around would cheer you on.
Some of might not know this but doing squats exercise, strengthens and builds the muscles of the thighs, hips, buttocks, quads and hamstrings. The women out there might say I don`t want big legs but its helps shape your leg and have an amazing figure !!
I think Japan should adopt this idea too, because I think most of you know that Japanese are really busy people and having this at the station would a good way to stay fit, promote communication between strangers and also it would be really fun seeing your friend fail to do 30 squats in 2 mins and have to pay for the fair right ?? 😀
Just to give you an idea of how a busy station in Tokyo, look at the picture below.
I would love to have a special squat sensor at Shinjuku Station and get free rides everywhere ! I hope you liked this blog!
