Today let`s talk about sightseeing… Who among us does not like to take a ride out of town, being able to take advantage of a day off?
Well, one of my favourite spots around Tokyo is for sue Enoshima Island!
Enoshima island is a pleasant and well-known touristic spot connected with the mainland by a big bridge, accessible by a short train ride from the popular Kamakura.
It offers a many attractions, including a shrine, a park full of wonderful and colorful flowers, an observation tower over the Ocean, and also some big caves. If you`re lucky, and you can go on a sunny day, from the top of the observatory you will probably be able to have a nice views of Mount Fuji!
Once you pass the yacht harbor, accessible to motorized traffic, you can explore the beautiful hill that contains most of the interesting things on foot, or by a paid escalator. Several shrine buildings, collectively known as Enoshima Shrine, are found around the island and are dedicated to Benten, a popular goddess of good fortune, wealth, music and knowledge.
Obviously, being an island, there are also the beaches! They continue until Chigasaki in the west and Kamakura in the east, and they are very popular among surfers! If you can go there on july or august, especially on the weekends, they will probably be very crowded with sun bathers and swimmers.
