This is Chipa Mwenya once again, the bi-lingual staff at Sakura House, giving you daily and interesting stories that happen in and out our office during the course of the day!
Today, we met another interesting resident from Germany, who has been practicing Karate since she was 6 years old! Did you know that Karate originated from Okinawa and has become an international sport that trains both the spirit and the body. Moreover, in the Japanese word for Karate (空手), the first kanji means “empty” and the second kanji means “hand” was invented at a time when weapons were banned by invading Japanese forces.
While we were signing her contract, we saw how passionate she was about Karate and she also told us that she dreamed her whole life to be in this country. Actually, her father is the one who taught her this martial art!
She’s overjoyed because near where she is living, there are many sport facilities such as the Yoyogi National stadium. If you are also going to becoming to Japan for sports related activities, we can also help you find a room that will be close to where you will be training.
If you would to know what accommodation we have nearby the area you will attend a sports related activity, click this link.
