When you come to Tokyo, what is one of the first spots you have to see? Definitely Harajuku! Tokyo’s crazy fashion center! But it’s not only the teenage culture that makes Harajuku interesting. You can see that on one side there is Japan’s cute side, but on the other, the traditional side.
Twice a year, hordes of anime and manga fan desend on Tokyo Big Sight to attend Comiket, a huge 3 day (soon to be 4 day) event that covers every aspect of Japanese Pop Culture. Since I am a fan of anime, manga and cosplay, I thought I’d share this event with you today.
Littered all around Tokyo are Maid Cafes, a staple in the Japanese pop culture world. These Maid Cafes in Japan can be found all over the country, but are most famous in the Anime and Manga capital, Akihabara, also known as Electric Town. If you’ve been to Japan, have you ever been to a Maid Cafe? If not you should try it at least once.
