I asked my coworkers what pops up on their mind when they think about Numabukuro 1 and 2 apartments. They all said, ‘THE PARK!’, so the park is about a min. walk from the apartment and it is called ‘HEIWA NO MORI KOEN’, which means ‘PEACEFUL FORREST PARK’ in English.

Well, I would say the best part is the location of Numabukuro. You are very close to Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Takadanobaba and Nakano station. You will enjoy all those locations, as there are many bars and restaurants around all those stations. Tokyo is a small city, but a very busy city. If you are working or studying in Tokyo, you may want to live in a quiet neighborhood to have some peace of mind on your free time?

Numabukuro, despite being a tranquil residential area, is just 16 minutes away on foot from Nakano, a district with the highest population density within Japan. With a number of famous comic and animation artists are living here, plus various related vocational and technical training schools around the station, it is well-known for being an Otaku centre. Even if you are not a die-hard fan, 'Nakano Broadway' is still a must-see. Being one of the most famous shopping streets in Japan, the Mecca of Otaku 'Mandarake' is located inside.

It occupies a large number of shops within the complex, where you could find all sorts of merchandise about your favorite manga and anime, ranging from figures, models, albums, cosplay items, to even invaluable original manuscripts. You might also feel traveling back in time in the antiques department because it simply has all the old toys and collector's items where you could not see anywhere else. Definitely a highly recommended place to anyone who becomes fascinated by this influential Japanese culture!
