While staying in a "ryokan" (Japanese style hotel) is a must for any visit to Japan, it might not be necessary if you are staying in this guesthouse - because in fact it was a former ryokan. This guesthouse is ideal for those who wish to have a more authentic Japanese living experience, you could also take a peek at the lifestyles of traditional travelers. Rents are also very reasonable (￥37,000 - ￥57,000). A perfect location for those who want to experience a lost Tokyo, Asakusa 2 is located at the heart of the old Asakusa Shitamachi area. On the more modern side, however, if you wish to visit the cultural motherland of Otaku, Akihabara is only four minutes away from the nearby Tsukuba Express "Asakusa" station.
