The city Sangenjaya is regarded as the most prosperous business area in Setagaya Ward also it has its name -similar to Kichijouji and Jiyugaoka- always on top of the place-to-live ranking list.
People in Tokyo call it the Oshare City (= trendy city) for reasons like the close location to Shibuya and the fact that a lot of celebrities live there. It was also Sangenjaya that had great influence on the momentary prospering café boom. But the real particularity about Sangenjaya is the Eco indoor shopping arcade or the Suzuran avenue where you can still feel the nostalgic side of this city.
The modern complex carrot tower was erected when Sangenjaya was redeveloped and is now regarded as the symbol of Sangenjaya City.
