Oft referred to as the 'electronics mecca,' if there is something that bleeps or lights up, you'll find it in Akihabara. The main drag of Chuo-dori is crammed cheek to jowl with anime and manga stores, computer parts stores, household electronics, microsized surveillance cameras, old 80's video games, arcades, and so on. Feeling a bit DIY? Assemble your own electronics bought from the rabbit warrens of Soto Kanda 1 Chome, just outside the station. On the subject of Kanda city, just south of Akihabara, it is a student's paradise, filled with used books, musical equipment and sporting equipment.
