For a successful short stay in Kyoto
Kyoto is a city frequently receiving foreign travelers for a few days stay. But more than often many travelers find themselves having to rush through the city to see all the beautiful temples, shrines, shops and yearly events and festivals they intended to see. As such, a temporary stay of at least a week would be most convenient to allow enough time to have a good glance of Kyoto city and its multiple beauties. For this, our Kyoto machiya style houses are happy to welcome weekly stays of travelers having to quickly prepare their stay in Kyoto in the next couple of months.
This is also convenient for foreign students, working holiday travelers, work related professionals and enthusiasts already in Japan who may also want to experience and compare Kyoto with their current long term stay location.
Our houses in Kyoto are located in the central city area of Nishijin, the historical neighborhood of kimono and obi (kimono belt) weavers.
It’s location has particularly given it increasing popularity from both locals and foreign nationals throughout the years. The Kyoto area of Nishijin keeps a traditional atmosphere with several machiya houses (old townhouses) still standing and getting renovated, and is also surrounded by some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and popular tourist spots, such as:
・The Kyoto Imperial Palace & Kyoto Gyoen National Garden.
・Kitanotenmangu Shrine.
・Kinkaku-ji Temple (the Golden Temple).
・Kamishichiken (Kyoto’s oldest geisha district).
・Nijo Castle.
・Daitoku-ji Temple.

To easily reach the above areas and many other ones of Kyoto city, over 11 bus lines run in the direct surroundings of our machiya houses, while 2 convenient rail lines (Karasuma Line & Randen Line) spread possibilities further, one of which directly connects with Kyoto Station. This allows to easily arrive for check-in, as well as reaching other prefectures in the Kansai area and beyond thanks to the national “shinkansen” (bullet train).
For the check-in, since our Kyoto front desk office is located in the same spot as our houses, each of our guests can go straight to their room after completing the check-in, with no further transportation delays. For residents already staying with us in Tokyo it is even more convenient, allowing for a quicker check-in process.
If you are curious to discover the beauty of Kyoto for about a week or two in the following months, or are looking for a longer stay as well, don’t hesitate to contact us to begin your arrangements of stay in Kyoto.
