This week in Sakura House (1st week of September)
As we look forward to continue welcoming foreign students, Working Holiday travelers, working professionals and temporary stay visitors for the upcoming Autumn-Winter season in Japan, we look back at what has happened this last week in Sakura House.
Sweet new decorations
We have a very exciting new addition to our SAKURA HOUSE Lounge!
That’s right… it’s a giant slice of cake!
Why? …why not?
In fact, it’s an art piece by a very talented artist (@ooos.aki) that was featured in Design Festa and very generously donated to Continental Fuchu Hotel where it sat in the lobby and eventually made its way to our lounge in Shinjuku.
Here’s a few snaps of our residents lounging on the cake
Don’t forget to take a photo when you come to our lounge!
Bringing you closer to our Share Houses, Apartments and Dormitory Guest House rooms
For travelers having to make sudden arrangements for their stay, we introduced one or our most comfortable and affordable houses to stay in Tokyo, Sakura House Musashino Musashi-seki.
This house is perfectly located in a calm neighborhood near Musashiseki Station. It has been offering to be the home for short-term travelers, as well as monthly long-term stays. Having the best of both aspects of Tokyo, a peaceful residential area close to Kichijoji, and easy access the city center via the Seibu Shinjuku Line, its is also close to fantastic sightseeing spots like the Ghibli Museum and Inokashira Park!
Beautiful single rooms with easy access to the kitchens (conveniently placed on both floors), along with washing machines and dryers as well as free Wi-Fi.
Discover the charm of Tokyo while enjoying a peaceful retreat.
SAKURA HOUSE ITABASHI-KU MOTOHASUNUMA
We also introduced two of our newest additions, both in the west area of Tokyo with walking access to the local train station and direct connection to the central area of the city:
SAKURA HOUSE SETAGAYA SHIMOTAKAIDO APARTMENT
New Apartments with direct connection to Shinjuku and Central Tokyo and convenient variety of shops nearby.
SAKURA HOUSE SUGINAMI ROKAKOEN
Share House private bedroom and Privat Apartment units in a peaceful and safe neighborhood with lively shops and “izakaya” restaurants.
Ready to help you enjoy your time in Tokyo
September marks the beginning of a new academic year for many universities and schools in Japan, so we have been welcoming many students for their beginning of their life experience in Tokyo.
After helping each one of them with their reservation arrangements by e-mail, it is always nice to meet them in person and get to chat face to face.
As we also accept travelers with a temporary tourist visa, we are always eager to have a small conversation during the check-in to know about each of our residents interests and goals while in Japan.
Trimming our gardens
Summer is a beneficial time of year for many plants and trees to grow, and the gardens of our Machiya Share Houses in Kyoto are no exception.
Houses in Kyoto city are mostly very close to each other, so keeping trees and planst properly pruned is of most importance to avoid them from reaching the neighbors house.
But also, traditional Machiya houses have the garden in the center of the house, allowing the entrance of natural light and ventilation. So keeping trees well pruned also allows for more light in the houses and easy ventilation thanks to the easy passage of wind.
This week our Kyoto staff took on the task of checking the condition of our gardens and cutting all the unnecessary branches. We hope more travelers get to enjoy our typical Machiya style share houses in Kyoto this upcoming season as well.
If you are preparing your trip for the upcoming Autumn or Winter season in Japan, feel free to let our multicultural staff know to help you take the first step of your stay in Japan.
