Ending October together

This last week of October, our SAKURA HOUSE residents of different share houses, apartments and guest houses, had the incredible opportunity during their stay in Tokyo to participate in a Japanese festival, a beautiful celebration of community and tradition. This event allowed them as foreign travelers, the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Japanese culture, connect with locals and experience the festive atmosphere of a Japanese “Matsuri” firsthand. The welcoming spirit of the community made everyone feel right at home.

As they carried the “omikoshi” (portable shrine) through the streets of Tokyo, our residents embraced the excitement and energy of the festival. The rhythmic chants and lively music created an unforgettable backdrop. The local community welcomed our residents and encouraged them to join in. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together, celebrating the rich heritage of the region.

This experience not only deepened their appreciation for Japanese customs but also strengthened the bonds within our share house community. We’re grateful to the Hatagaya locals for their warm hospitality and for allowing our residents to be part of such a special tradition.

Also, special shout-out and thanks to our friends at SAKURA HOTEL & CAFE HATAGAYA (check their website here) as well for facilitating the event!

We have another festival coming up this Sunday in Ikebukuro (Fukuro Matsuri Ikebukuro)! We will be sending more information to residents soon so please keep an eye out for our email.

Be sure to stay updated with our latest events coming up on our website.
