A Day of Fun in Harajuku
Shorter days and chilly weather don’t stop Sakura House residents from having a good time. With the long summer officially behind us and fall in full swing, we kicked off the season with two exciting events for our community.
In Harajuku, residents were given the rare opportunity to visit the Harajuku Police Station. During the visit, participants enjoyed one-on-one martial arts drills in the station’s dojo, a lecture on Japan’s laws, and a close-up look at an actual patrol car and motorcycle. This event commemorated over 30 years of friendship between Sakura House and the Harajuku police, who continue to support our mission to keep residents informed and safe during their time in Japan.

To wrap up the day, we hosted an okonomiyaki party at Sakura House’s own Sakura Tei, located inside Design Festa. Still buzzing from their visit to the police station, residents filled up on delicious food and drinks while trying their best to create the most impressive okonomiyaki possible. Everyone left with full stomachs, happy memories, and a deeper connection to one another—and to the local community.
